Loft Conversion – FAQs
Do I need planning permission?
Many lofts fall under permitted development, but conservation areas or mansards may require planning. We’ll advise and handle submissions if needed.
What minimum head height do I need?
Ideally around 2.2–2.3m before construction. We’ll confirm during survey and propose solutions if marginal.
How do you ensure fire safety?
Protected staircase routes, FD30 fire doors (or mitigation), mains-linked smoke alarms and compliant escape windows as required.
Can you add an ensuite?
Yes — we’ll plan plumbing runs, ventilation and drainage falls during design to suit your layout.
Ready to convert your loft?
